Isle of Man: Half Term With The Kids

beaches.jpgbeaches.jpg

If your child has just started in reception…give yourself a pat on the back ‘cos you survived till half term! You survived the adjustments in routine, the overly tired tantrums (yours and theirs!), the quandary of what to add to their lunch boxes so the dinner ladies wont judge you (apple cancels out the wotsits, banana cancels out the non-organic sugar-laden yogurt…) and the puzzlement of what comment to write in their reading record about a book that HAS NO WORDS!!!

You’ve also survived the school run for seven whole weeks…despite it literally being just getting in a car then getting out of a car it is quite possibly one of the most exhausting jobs in parenting! If your child is older than reception, congratulations to you also. This school run malarkey doesn’t get easier with experience!Another DaySo now it’s time for a week of rest and relaxation……….Wrong! In case you didn’t know, kids are internally wired with a hidden 6th sense. They can smell relaxation a mile off. So if you had planned some downtime, I admire your optimism! If like me, you plan on getting out the house as much as you can because your children tend to wrestle each other, eat all your food and generally create havoc if enclosed for too long, then you’ve come to the right place. Gef has your half term activities covered. So, bundle the kids in the car at a more civilised time than the school run, enjoy the fact there are no lunch bags, reading wallets and swimming kits to accidentally leave on your front doorstep and try out some of the fun half term activities on offer!
