Jane’s urgent plea for donors

Local lady, Jane Subachus, from the north of the Island has made a desperate plea for stem cell donors.Jane, who suffers from the rare blood disorder Myleofibrosis, a type of chronic leukaemia, needs a bone marrow transplant and has launched an urgent appeal for people to sign up as donors online with the blood cancer charity, Anthony Nolan. If you are between the ages of 16-30 and in good health, you can sign up to the Anthony Nolan register, and you will remain on it until you turn 60.Once registered, the charity will send you a swab pack in the post, so that you can self swab your mouth and send it back to them, free of charge. If you’re a match, the charity will get in touch and ask if you’re still happy to donate. If you are over 30, you can sign up with DKMS, another blood cancer charity, who accepts registrations up to the age of 55.We know how incredible the Isle of Man community can be at times like these, so if you do one thing today, sign up to one of these charities and potentially save a life.var bannersnack_embed = {“hash”:”bv1cituzy”,”width”:672,”height”:280,”t”:1548757254,”userId”:38193901,”responsive”:true,”type”:”html5″};//cdn.bannersnack.com/iframe/embed.js
