The Great Manx Cheese Invasion

If there’s one thing we’re sure of here at Gef HQ, it’s that our Isle of Man Creamery cheese is the best in the World (no bias, just cold, hard proven fact)We like to think of our Island as a cheesy Mecca, a place where cheese-lovers can come and visit the Holy Cheesus, and taste the sensation that is Manx cheese. There are MANY great exports from our unassuming little Island, including queenies, kippers, Manx tartan and of course, cheese.Up until recently, we had no idea about the scale of global success our Manx cheese has had so far. For a nation our size, we think it’s pretty impressive that we’re producing and exporting our cheese to all corners of the globe – which makes us feel patriotic AF.According to the latest stats from the Creamery, we export around 1300 tonnes of cheese every year. To put this into perspective, that’s twelve-and-a-half times as heavy as a Blue Whale. Isn’t that just BONKERS?!Cheese WhalesHere’s a list of all the places you can purchase our precious Manx ched:

  • UK & IrelandTesco, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi
  • All over the USAPublix Supermarkets – Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia
  • CanadaLoblaws Supermarkets
  • Middle East – UAE, Qatar
  • Spain (inc. Islands)
  • Malta

Apparently the American’s can’t get enough of the stuff, with the Creamery even producing speciality flavours exclusively for the USA.One of our favourite revelations from our chat with the gang at the Creameries was that the the cheese is stocked by the prestigious Emirates Airline, in their lounges around the world AND on board.Isn’t it great to think that a little bit of the Isle of Man is flying through airspace at all times!? And the cheese & cracker gesture at the end of your airline meal (absolutely the best bit) is from grass-fed cows that are 100% Manx as the hills, no matter where your destination. It just goes to show, that our little 32 x 14 mile slice of heaven can pack a cheesy punch on a global scale.Kudos, Isle of Man Creamery, and the 32 family-owned dairy farms on the Island who work relentlessly all year round to make this cheesy goodness happen.Be sure to let us know if you would like to see Isle of Man Creamery cheese stocked in a shop near you, and we’ll drop a message to our pals at the Creamery. Who knows, Emirates might even drop it off to you.// bannersnack_embed = {“hash”:”bu5wh4gym”,”width”:672,”height”:280,”t”:1548694738,”userId”:38193901,”responsive”:true,”type”:”html5″};//
