Dog lover and walking fanatic Richard Macknee is on a mission to change the Island’s beaches, footpaths and general outdoors for the better with one simple request:

Next time you are out and about, simply pick up 3 pieces of plastic!

Founded almost 3 years ago, the 3 Pieces of Plastic project has seen some sights for sore eyes. From abandoned trollies to the more recent littering of PPE, it really makes you question how LAZY people can get?

It is expected that if we carry on the way we are, especially with the uptake in single-use plastic over the pandemic, we will have more plastic in the ocean than we do fish by 2050 (Future Agenda 2020).

What a scary thought!

However, thanks to Richard’s efforts the IOM has been setting an example for the rest of the world, with 3 Pieces of Plastic IOM inspiring other regions like Norfolk to follow suit and adopt similar schemes to encourage the end littering once and for all.

The hypocrisy!

So do your bit for Mother Nature and GET INVOLVED by picking up 3 pieces of litter next time you are out, good deed done for the day!

You’ll be surprised what a difference it can make when we all come together, yessir!
