JUST ANNOUNCED: From the people that brought you Peggy’s comes KiKi’s Tiki Lounge: a brand new cocktail experience in the under-utilised space within Peggy’s. Promising “higher end” cocktails, a private entrance and a table-service only policy, the bar will be less “shag on the prom” and more honeymooning in Honolulu.. Think of it as Peggy’s more sophisticated big sister: while Peggy will still be as sassy as ever, Kiki will be bringing a bit of class to the prom. God knows Douglas prom needs some lovin’ at the mo!

Jamie Lewis, Managing Director of Extra Fancy Limited said; “It’s been a tough year for the hospitality industry, the globe around. We feel incredibly fortunate to be based here on the Isle of Man, where our sector really does have the freedom to flourish right now.

Someone asked me if we were mad to be launching a new project in such uncertain times.

Offering table service and utilising the space gives us a fighting chance should any form of social distancing return to the Island! Anyone that has ever been to Peggy’s will know just how hard it would be to practice social distancing measures inside!”

The bar will be bringing something unique to the island, and  take inspiration from the legendary tiki bars such as Trader Vic’s and Don the Beachcomber. Visitors can expect that traditional tiki bar feel, coupled with a soundtrack of reggae, motown and disco classics. What’s not to love?

Alex Lewthwaite, General Manager of Peggy’s and Director of Extra Fancy Limited said; “When we were brainstorming ideas for a new cocktail bar, we thought a tiki paradise in such troubling times where it’s no longer as easy to hop off on holiday would provide the Manx public with some much needed ‘sunshine’ and escapism!”

With most of us missing our summer hols this year, donning a grass skirt and a lei might be the ultimate way to beat those winter blues.

Kiki’s Tiki Lounge will open to the public on Thursday 12th November. There will be bookable booths and tables for parties of 2 to 12, or private hire options for larger groups. Sign up for priority booking is now live.
