While you may know Milntown for their quaint cakes and gorgeous grounds, things are about to get SPOOKY for hop-tu-naa.

From 28th-31st October, Milntown’s coloured past will come alive once again as the undead walk the grounds again for Scarefest 2020: The Reawakening.

If you’re a history nerd, you’ll know that Milntown was the location of the Battle of Skyhill. The Estate has been held in trust following a period of 500 years where the mansion in the heart of the forest exchanged hands between many nobles- namely the Christian family and Iliam Dhone.

The estate’s history is PLAGUED with tenants coming to an early death in some weird circumstances, which trustees believe to be the result of some dark forces…

If you’re brave enough to head down to walk around Milntown this hop-tu-naa, you’ll meet the characters of Milntown’s history. From 18:30-23:00, there is a nightly interactive fire and light projection show, with the Milntown Cafe and Restaurant offering a food service including some autumnal treats to soothe your nerves.

Scarefest is being run by Ultimate Productions, in conjunction with the friends of Milntown estate. The event promises a terrifying mix of actors, animatronics and special effects. Justin McMullin, Director of Ultimate Productions, commented that “We’ve had a really poor year so far in terms of events but this one promises to be very special and one not to miss. We are adding a huge amount of additional special effects and we’ve also added a huge undercover section billed The Dark Maze for our customers to navigate with one or two surprises within. All in all it promises to be one of the best events on the Island of 2020”

Family sessions will run at 18:30, 19:00 and 19:30, while things get even spookier in the later sessions (for people over 12+ years) run at 20:00, 20:30, 21:30, 22:00 and 22:30. You can purchase tickets for the haunted forest walk, projection show and entry at: scarefest.im
