When we look back on Lockdown 3.0, can any of us really say we used the time wisely or did something greater than ourselves?
Well during the lockdown, Port Erin Commissioners received a letter and suggestions from seven-year-old Leo Kerr who wanted to improve the local shared spaces within the village.
While exercising during lockdown, Leo was disappointed to notice the amount of dog muck in the village. He felt so strongly that he designed a poster to encourage dog walkers to pick up after their dogs.

Godfrey Egee, Chair of Port Erin Commissioners said: ‘The Board was pleased that one of the younger members of our community has taken the time to help address the issue of dog fouling within the village in such a positive manner. Port Erin Commissioners has installed poo bag dispensers around the village, so there really is no excuse not to pick up after your dog. The fact that our younger community members feel the need to ask people to pick up after their dogs, is heartening but equally disappointing that they need to.’

The posters designed by Leo have been made into stickers which will be stuck on litter bins and lampposts and will also be shared across our website and social media platforms and around the village.
