Radio presenter Stu Peters has announced he has stepped down from his late night talk show to contest the constituency of Middle.
In a video, which you can see below, Mr Peters said he wants to ‘take back control from the political elite who, once elected, seem to forget the people who put them in Tynwald in the first place’.
He added: ‘As a daily news, current affairs and talk broadcaster, I think I probably have a better idea than most about what real people think about real issues.’
Mr Peters joins David Fowler and Keiran Hannifin in declaring his intention to contest the Middle constituency which is currently held by Chief Minister Howard Quayle and Bill Shimmins, both of whom have announced they will not seek re-election.
The election is on Thursday, September 23, if you are planning to vote, make sure you are registered and if you are standing, make sure to let Gef know by emailing email@example.com
