Culture Fest Announce Music Lineup

So, you’re already excited for Culture Fest, but we’re guessing one of the burning questions on your mind is who is going to be performing there right? Well, don’t you worry, we have all the answers for you right here.

We wanted to ensure that we had music to fit everyone’s taste, and we are sure we have that covered with our final line up. From soul, to pop, to indie and all the good old fashioned crowd pleasers, we really think we have it all!

We would like to give a special thanks to all the bands involved and especially to the IOM Arts Council who have generously funded all of the acts at Culture Fest, we are so grateful to have received this funding to help us make it a day to remember. We also couldn’t have secured this funding without the help of Jack and the team over at Sound Records, so a huge thank you to them too! We appreciate all the help that everyone has given us along the way to build up such an incredible lineup.

Anyways, let’s get on with the big reveal!

First up, our amazing headliner is the one and only Buncha Skankers, who will be making sure that the first ever Culture Fest goes out in style!

Manavia are a Manx based band hailing from Douglas. ‘Insula manavia,’ the Roman Latin translation of the Isle of Man, is not only the origin of this modern rock and roll band’s name, but also defines their influences. The four piece are inspired by the people, pubs and parties of this fair isle and their music gives a working class voice to the iconic genre once again.

NOVA is a function band based in the Isle of Man covering not just the biggest artists of the moment like Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris and Bruno Mars, but also a selection of some huge Ibiza classics.

Sound Records

We are Lava, an 8 piece band made up of an impressive brass section, top percussionist and multiple talented vocalists. We play a huge variety of genres, including everything from jazz, soul and latin to funky pop and even the odd bit of rock too!

We recently headlined the Isle of Man’s first ever Pride event, and have also played all-cuban sets at the ‘Our Island, Our World’ Festival, we are very much looking forward to playing at the POC event too. We also host our very own ‘Sunday Night Music Club’ in Douglas, where we act as a house-band alongside a variety of brilliant guest performers.

Lava is fronted by dynamic duo Christy Dehaven and Jack Divers, who won’t just provide you an entertaining set, but might even school you in some dance moves to go with it.

You bring your dancing shoes and we will bring the party!

Mother Funkers

We started out as a bit of an offshoot from Lava, first playing as this band a few years ago at a random impromptu field party. We all loved jamming together so much that afterwards we decided to properly start Mother Funkers, and ever since we have loved bringing our positivity and good times to the rest of the island! We aim to always just have fun, play songs we all love and not to take ourselves too seriously, we’re really looking forward to playing POC’s Culture Fest because it’s about time an event like this took place here and we’re beyond happy to be a part of it. See ya down there!! 🕺🏻

Toucan Party

Whether it’s festival anthems or soulful vibes, we can provide a party! We’ve been a four piece band since November 2020 and have had a belter playing for the Manx public. We all absolutely love playing live together and encourage you to throw the wildest shapes you can while we play. We are thrilled to be a part of Culture Fest and can’t wait to join the celebrations, so come down and have a boogie with us!
