POC IOM’s Culture Fest is a celebration of the diverse people and cultures we have on the Isle of Man and how they come together to define what it exactly means to be Manx. The festival, which takes place on August 21 at The Nunnery, Douglas, will see music, art, sports and more on offer with tickets priced at £11.37, or free for under-18s.
At the heart of Culture Fest is inclusivity and accessibility. From the beginning of our planning, we wanted to provide buses so that families and people from all over the island could attend Culture Fest without having to worry about travel or parking.
With a helping hand from our friends over at Newfield, we have managed to ensure that families that want to come to Culture Fest are not burdened with travel worries. Newfield have generously sponsored a number of free buses, which will run to and from The Nunnery. There will be two southern buses, two western buses, and two northern buses that will run a dedicated Culture Fest service, with designated Culture Fest stops and routes.
We have been working hard with the Bus Vannin team to make sure everything is up to scratch with our timetable and route. Click here for all the details.
The buses leaving Culture Fest will follow the same routes, with one bus for each allocated route leaving at 3pm and the other bus leaving at 4pm.
As well as buses that will be running to and from Culture Fest, we will also have a free bus running at the end of the event that will take people from The Nunnery to Lord Street. That way you can carry on your festivities into town – and join us at Peggy’s where we will be throwing our official after party to celebrate!
POC IOM, Newfield and Bus Vannin really hope that this enables as many families and individuals to come down and enjoy Culture Fest without breaking the bank on parking or travel costs.
Again, we want to extend our thanks to Newfield for sponsoring the free bus service. We are super grateful to them for helping us achieve our theme of accessibility, and we hope that many people get good use out of the Newfield Free Bus Service.
Keep your eyes peeled and make sure you’re following both @poc_iom and @gefthemongoose to learn about all the latest news as soon as it comes. Buy your Culture Fest tickets here for Saturday 21st August.
We hope to see you all there!
