T20 Legends Visiting Island This Weekend

Two legends of limited over cricket are coming to the island this Saturday and Sunday for the Weekend Celebration of Cricket, which also sees the inaugural match of the Manx Gateway Club.

Alex “Wakers” Wakely, who announced his retirement from the sport in May, and Richard Levi, known for his hard hitting explosive style, won the T20 blast twice with Northamptonshire CC’s Steelbacks in 2013 and 2016. The pair will not only be leading junior coaching sessions, but will also be captaining teams for a short format game.

This marks the first time either man has visited the island.

Gateway is a registered Isle of Man charity based at Centre 21 which provides recreational opportunities for disabled adults. Having only recently been introduced to Kwik Cricket by Oliver and Theo Helfrich, this weekend will see the Gamechangers inaugural game.
