Sneafell GP surgery has announced that two of its three partner GPs have left following funding issues first raised earlier this year.
A statement on the surgery’s website, said: ‘Sadly, our two new partners have now left the partnership. This is due in the main to the practice funding problems we highlighted at the beginning of this year. This means we now currently have only one GP partner.
‘Unfortunately, this leaves us extremely understaffed and will have consequences for patients when trying to access the reduced number of GP appointments available.
‘We are in communication with Manx Care and will utilise locum Drs when and where we can in order to try to maintain service levels for our patients.
‘However, we would ask all our patients to be aware of these issues and bear with us while we try to resolve our staffing problems and formulate more resilient, sustainable plans for our future.’
It had appeared that the surgery might face closure earlier this year before talks with Manx Care and the gov that appeared to have eased concerns.
Gef has contacted Manx Care for comment/.
