The Family Library and Mobile Library are holding an Open Day on Thursday September 2 2021 from 12pm to 3pm at their base on Westmoreland Road, Douglas.

This event is being held to provide an opportunity for members of the public to come and learn about the different services that are offered and to see the facilities that are available.

The whole of the Family Library building will be open for tours and there will be demonstrations and displays with light refreshments being served. There will also be a treasure hunt, story time and raffle for the public to take part in.

The Mobile Library and other vehicles will be open for viewing and discussion on the routes and wide-ranging services that they can provide. This will include the Schools, Bibliotherapy and Home Delivery services.

The Summer Reading Scheme is still ongoing and the challenge this year is to read six books and write your own review of them. Each time you bring a review into the library, you will receive a sticker and a badge and, after collecting all six, you will be invited to a special party in September to celebrate. This is an ideal opportunity to pop in to collect your free goodie bag and information pack or to bring in one of your reviews.

There are also plenty of games, activities and prizes to be won .
