Over the next week, Onchan Methodist Church is hosting an exhibition of 34 silk paintings by UK artist Anne House.
Anne was described as ‘one of the best silk painters in the UK’ by a leading art magazine, and has had her work displayed in many galleries across the UK.
The exhibition, entitled “New Generation”, is stunning and striking, challenging and comforting, as she takes the viewer on a journey from creation through to the present day and then seeks to show how God’s answers to the problems of society is found through the gospel of Christ.
One of the Ministers at Onchan Methodist Church, Rev Steve Ingrouille said: ‘I’ve worked with this exhibition a number of times over the last 20 years (starting from when I was a student in Southampton) and each time the paintings have spoken to people from both the church and the wider community in powerful ways. We are very excited to the bringing the exhibition to the Isle of Man and looking forward to seeing these incredible paintings – some of which are 6 feet tall – displayed in our church.’
The New Generation Exhibition will be open daily 10AM to 8PM from Saturday September 4 to Sunday September 12 at Onchan Methodist Church, Main Road, Onchan. Free refreshments will be available. For further information contact Steve on 674464.
