The annual Borough of Douglas Civic Sunday Parade and Service will take place on Sunday, leading to several short road closures in the capital.
Mayor, Mrs R. Chatel, J.P., on behalf of Douglas Borough Council, invites representatives of other Local Authorities, Government Departments, ex-Service and charitable organisations, and ratepayers and members of the public, to take part in the event, assembling for the Parade at 10.00am.
The Parade will form on John Street and at 10.15am and will be led by Douglas Town Band via Prospect Hill, Athol Street and Upper Church Street to St. George’s Church where the Service will commence at 10.30am.
Motorists are advised that the route of the parade will be closed to traffic between 9.50am and 10.30am.
The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic: John Street; Prospect Hill from its junction with Ridgeway Street to its junction with Athol Street; Athol Street from its junction with Prospect Hill to its junction with Upper Church Street; and Upper Church Street from its junction with Athol Street to St. George’s Church.
