President of Tynwald Laurence Skelly has paid tribute to his predecessor Noel Cringle OBE who died over the summer recess.
Mr Cringle, who served as the second President of Tynwald, had a political career of over 50 years serving as both a commissioner, MHK, Minister and latterly as President.
With Mr Cringle’s family in attendance, Mr Skelly praised him for his dedication to Manx politics and culture as a ‘Manxman through and and through’.
Mr Cringle, aside from politics, is remembered as a farmer and auctioneer, and as an untiring supporter of every aspect of island life, especially sport and the arts.
