When Eddie Jones’ England team take to the hallowed Twickenham turf this evening to face Australia, he will have in his ranks Manxman Bevan Rodd.
Having only been called into training camp this week, the un-capped Sale Sharks prop have been thrown straight into the starting 15 after Ellis Genge was forced to withdraw following a positive Covid test.
Speaking of giving the Manxman his debut, Jones said: ‘It is a great opportunity for a young lad like Bevan Rodd to play his first Test at Twickenham against our arch enemies Australia, we have the greatest confidence in him.’
Rodd has also received the backing of Chief Minister Alf Cannan who tweeted to say he was looking forward to watching him play this evening.
The game kicks off at 5.30pm but it is not on standard TV. To watch, you need to go sign in or sing up for Amazon Prime and watch it there.
