After a fortnight off for the men in red, FC Isle of Man welcome Alsager Town to the Bernabowl this week.

With last week’s game against New Mills being postponed, Chris Bass has had a full fortnight to drill the squad as he seeks an improvement over the last game when the Ravens needed a last gasp Furo Davies equaliser to secure a point against nine-men Maine Road.

This Week’s Visitors

So what of Alsager Town? The Cheshire based side were actually the first team FC Isle of Man picked ups three points against in the league this season when they met waaaaaaay back in August.

Since then they’ve had a mixed season which finds them too close to the relegation zone for their liking, however a 7-0 win over bottom of the table St Martins has helped to ease them seven points clear of the drop.

Despite their league position and the Ravens early season win, with their form of three wins in their last six, expect The Bullets to come out firing at the Bernabowl.

The Ravens

As for FC Isle of Man, Chris Bass has a fairly health squad to pick from this week and he’ll be hoping striker Sean Doyle can continue his fantastic first season in the English leagues which has taken him to the top of the goalscoring charts. If the Ravens are being honest with themselves, they were not on top form against Maine Road, but the home crowd did not waiver in their support, despite the frequent downpours, and were rewarded with Furo’s late header. With the forecast looking reasonable for Saturday night, get down to the Bowl and support the lads. Tickets can be found on sale here.
