The gov has announced the death of Attorney General John Quinn QC at the age of 67.
Mr Quinn, who has served as AG since 2017, also served as acting AG from 2013.
A statement from the government said: ‘It is with great sadness that the Isle of Man Government announces the death of John Quinn QC, Her Majesty’s Attorney General. Mr Quinn died after a short period of illness in hospital.’
A graduate of the Chester College of Law, Mr Quinn was married to Heather and is the father of James, Daniel, Matthew, Joshua, John Samuel, Amelia and William.
Mr Quinn had served as an advocate for 30 years and been president of the Isle of Man Law Society prior to his appointment as AG.
The AG acts as legal adviser to the Lieutenant Governor, CoMin and all government departments and represents the Crown in the prosecution of offences and drafting of legislation.
