Ramsey Road Closure

The span of the TT Footbridge at Queens Pier Road (near Ramsey Bus Station) is to be removed for inspection and essential maintenance ahead of TT.

In order to do this the road will be closed between its junction with Princes Road and the eastern boundary of 6 Queens Pier Road. The closure will be between 9.15am and 4.30pm (timed to avoid commuter traffic). There is a closure order for both Tuesday February 15 and Wednesday 16. Work is expected to be completed in one day and will be undertaken on whichever day has suitable wind conditions for crane operations.

Traffic will be diverted via Parsonage Road, Albert Street and Albert Road. Parking will be prohibited on Parsonage Road during the closure (as denoted by no waiting cones). The bridge will be reinstalled on either Tuesday March 29 or Wednesday 30. Identical closure arrangements will be in place for this.

In response to a question from Speaker Juan Watterson, Chief Minister Alf Cannan has said the matter of whether to appoint an Equality Champion or not is ‘currently under consideration’ and he will ‘update members accordingly’.

Come Fly With Jeremy

You may all remember that airport chief Jeremy Spake was once a TV star, well he’s going back on the gogglebox. We’re actually sure if he’s still at Ronaldsway but we do know he has been doing a spot of filming on the island, so it will be good to see the Isle of Man getting some exposure once again.
