It’s the game Ravens fans have been waiting for as table toppers West Didsbury & Chorlton enter the Bernabowl.
A win on Saturday night would see Chris Bass’ side go top of the NWCL Division One South, however West Dids do have three games in hand over the Ravens.
A Big Challenge
The Manchester based side look fairly certain to win the league, they have only dropped 15 points all season, with a record of 22 wins, six draws and one defeat. That loss came away at Ellesmere Rangers where they went down 1-0 back in December.
While the Ravens have been in free scoring mode for most of the season, having scored 101 across their 32 league games this season, West Dids aren’t the most prolific. Across their 29 games in the league, they have scored 76 goals, but their superior goal difference of 56 shows how tight their defence has been. Across the season they have conceded just 20 goals, but seven of these have come in their last six games, during which time they haven’t kept a clean sheet.
Their big goal threats come from Ben Elliot and Sam Heathcote, who have 20 and 18 league goals respectively.
Man on fire Sean Doyle missed the reverse fixture back in August, when the Ravens lost 3-0 to West Dids, so the appearance in this game of the league’s deadliest finisher, alongside the form of Luke Murray, who put in a big performance last weekend away at Stafford as he helped himself to a brace, will bring confidence to the Ravens fans at what should be a packed Bowl on Saturday night.
Kick off on Saturday is at 6.30pm, gates open at 5.30pm. Tickets are on sale here.
