Celtic League Supports Ukraine Appeal

The Celtic League Mannin Branch has sent a £300 donation to the Disasters Emergency Committee. In addition the Celtic League Mannin Branch Secretary, Bernard Moffatt, has sent a personal £500 donation to Medecins sans frontieres (MSF) which has launched its own appeal to sustain work in Ukraine.

Chairman Bernard Moffatt said: ‘MSF is a charity that I donate to regularly. It is a medical aid organization which is ethically based. It’s always on the ground early in any crisis, stays the distance and is often the last to leave. It has done amazing work globally especially during the long running conflict in Yemen. However it and other charities and NGOs will be severely stretched in Ukraine and need all the help that can be given.’

‘I love Eurovision. I think it’s such a privilege to be able to do it,’ he told Radio 1 Newsbeat.  Last year’s contest in Rotterdam was won by Italian rock group Maneskin. Sam’s taking part following two consecutive years where the UK has placed last at Eurovision.
