After a much changed squad went down fighting 2-0 away at AFC Liverpool in a midweek cup tie, the Ravens return to their nest this weekend as they welcome bottom of the table St Martins.

Last week’s 1-1 draw v Abbey Hey may have ended any feint title hopes that the Ravens fans were holding onto, but there is still the business of securing a preferable home tie in the play-offs.

This week’s visitors St Martins come to the island knowing they are long past relegated having only picked up two points all season having scored just 20 goals and conceding 219, which included an 18-0 drubbing by champions elect West Didsbury & Chorlton.

While the Ravens should see this as a chance to secure their position as runners up, Chris Bass and Lee Dixon are never going to let them think it’s job done or that this week’s game will be any easier than any other.

When the two sides met back in November, Furo Davies bagged himself a hat trick while the rest of the goals were spread throughout the squad with Bass, Doyle, McVey, Gale and Card (2) also getting on the scoresheet.

Amber’s at the Wheel

With Sam off to Liverpool for the weekend, Amber ‘Weather Warning’ Baker is providing Gef’s coverage of the game. Having not missed a home game all season unlike Sam she actually knows what she’s talking about and doesn’t have to rely on asking ‘who’s that’ every five minutes.

The game kicks off at 6.30pm, gates open 5.30pm, check out the Raven’s site for tickets.
