Manx Care has suspended visiting at Noble’s Hospital, Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital and Manannan Court for an initial two weeks.
The healthcare provider says this is due to the number of Covid cases on the island and staff absences.
Manx Care says it will maintain visiting in adult residential care settings; however, it will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate steps in relation if and when necessary.
Manx Care CEO, Teresa Cope, said: ‘We understand that changes to the visitor policy can be difficult for patients, friends and family members. We will be regularly reviewing the situation to ensure we continue to work to protect our patients, colleagues and our community.’
Along with the change to the visitor policy, due to the prevalence of Covid-19 cases across Noble’s Hospital, Manx Care has made the decision to open Ward 11 as an additional Covid ward alongside Ward 12. This adjustment allows for the reopening of Ward 4 (Gynaecology/Female Surgical ward) later today, meaning that specialist nurses can once again provide care in a dedicated environment.
All visitors are asked to take LFT tests 45 minute before going to any Manx Care setting.
