After the recent news involving P&O ferries sacking their staff to replace them with cheaper agency workers who they are not paying the minimum age to, a couple of our readers asked if we knew about the Steam Packet’s pay policy.
We have been in touch with the company and MD Brian Thomson said the company pays at least the minimum wage to all staff and this can be seen in the latest accounts which are public. Furthermore he said, like many of us, that he is appalled at what has happened with P&O and reassured that the company would never go down that route.

For Good Friday, which is April 15, the only deliveries will be parcels and priority post, the HQ is open from 9am to 12.30pm and the Northern Delivery Office is open 6am to 1pm. Notice left collection sites open as normal.
For Easter Saturday and Monday, there are no deliveries or collections on either day. On Saturday Castletown is open 9am to 12.30pm, Douglas 10am to 12pm and Andreas 9am to 12.30pm. Collection sites open as normal.
Pensions and allowances due for payment on Friday April 15 or Monday 18 can be collected on Thursday April 14.
