A group of Manx kids have spent their school holidays competing in the Junior Blackpool Dance Festival moment against couples from all over the world.

Not ones to be overawed by their competition or historic venue, the youngsters have put their best feet forward and will be bringing home trophies to the island.

David Cowley, whose son is one of the competitors, said that both the junior and juvenile teams came second in their team match events in which they narrowly missed out to England, but did beat Scotland and Wales.

He explained that couples from the local schools compete to win a place on the island team. With the best four couples in the junior class (12-15) and the best four couples in the juvenile class (under 12) represent the island against other teams from other countries.

The juvenile team are: William Cowley and Tia callow, William Crellin and Fianna Watterson, Joseph Delaney and Amelie Jackson, Mylah Mason and Anna Wilson, Mascots are Melodie Mason and Harry Cowell

Curtis Watson and Alexandra parry have already won the British Junior modern Sequence championship.
