How Much is The New DfE CEO Worth?

The Department for Enterprise is looking for a new CEO, but unlike other top gov jobs that have come up recently their salary hasn’t been revealed.

Current CEO Mark Lewin, will be shuffling back across the gov into the Cabinet Office where he will be the Chief Operating Officer.

Paying tribute to Mr Lewin, Minister Dr Alex Allinson said: ‘The Department has achieved a great deal over the last few years under Mark’s astute leadership and his remarkable dedication, fostering a public/private partnership approach to economic development in the Island.

‘While we will be very sorry to lose Mark, with the newly published draft Department Plan providing clear direction for the year ahead, we are in a great place to drive forward key initiatives and support the Island Plan. The Department for Enterprise has a very important remit and I am looking forward to finding a credible business leader to support the next stage of the journey. Diverse backgrounds are important but the right candidate must also be able to demonstrate strategic leadership and an acute understanding of our Island and our economy.’

How Much?

The job itself has been posted on the Job Train website with a closing date of May 15.

But interestingly, the salary for the job is only listed as ‘competitive’. This is in contrast to recent postings such as Home Affairs CEO, the salary for which was listed as between £89,585 and £98,385, DHSC, which was listed as up to £111,000 and the new Chief Constable which was listed as up to £146,469 a year.
