A Familiar Face

While it seems like just weeks ago that FC Isle of Man finished their season (because it was) Ravens fans are already looking ahead to the next season which will see Chris Bass’ side compete in the NWCFL Premier Division.

One of the other teams due to be playing in that league is Bury AFC and they have just signed a certain striker who will be familiar to many of us, Niall Cummins.

The former Marine AFC man, who famously fired them into a third round tie with Jose Mourinho’s Spurs, will join the Lancashire side ahead of the new season which should see him come up against the Ravens…

What’s the Value of Sprintfest?

Ramsey Commissioner Robert Cowell says he has filed a notice of motion to discuss openly the costs and the success levels of ‘Sprintfest’.

He said: ‘When spending ratepayers’ money, it is crucial I feel for us to do a full economic review of the event so you can decide whether the event was value for money/a success.

‘I congratulate the organisers, but perhaps there are things that could be done differently. Was it a good use of resources? Were the road closures and car park closure right? Let’s have a look under the bonnet and evaluate for the future of the event so that, if it goes ahead again, we can take on board feedback and make it better.’

Pressure Washer Theft

At some point over the past couple of days, a yellow and black coloured Karcher mini pressure washer has been stolen from an address on Greenlands Avenue in Ramsey. Officers at Ramsey Police Station are investigating the theft, and want to hear from anyone who may have information relating to the matter; or who may have been offered a similar item for sale.
