A fundraiser set up by the family of Mark Purslow, who died during this year’s TT, has reached £5,000.
Welshman Purslow, 29, died at Ballagarey on June 1, on the third lap of qualifying.
To celebrate his life, his family set up a fundraiser to support three charities that were close to his heart, the Joey Dunlop Foundation, The Mike Hailwood Centre and the Air Ambulance.
The page says the Mike Hailwood Centre in particular was close to him as it ‘helped Mark as a newcomer to begin his racing journey on the Isle of Man’.
In a tweet on his racing page, Mark’s family said: ‘Thank you so much for the kind donations to Mark’s chosen charities. Everyone’s generosity is overwhelming! Mark would have been thrilled and wouldn’t be able to believe it! So happy to also say we found out that Mark will be home early next week!’
