Lexicon, the bookshop which has been open for well over three quarters of a century, is to close early next month.
Woolworths, Griddles, HMV, Moochers and so many more names have been and gone in the time the Lexicon has been on the high street.
In a post on Facebook, the store said it had been a pleasure to serve the island for so long.
The post said: ‘As many of you are now aware, the Lexicon will be closing on 2nd July. We would like to wholeheartedly thank all of our loyal customers who have supported the business over the past 86 years and to wish you all good health and happiness in the years ahead.
‘We will be starting a HALF PRICE (unless already marked lower) sale tomorrow on all of our remaining stock which of course includes books, the Wrendale range, pens, models, Rennie Mac mirrors and many other gift items. This might be the ideal chance to pick up a bargain for Father’s Day on Sunday.’
