Islanders planning to fly to Manchester with easyJet are in for disappointment as the airline appears to have pulled the route until at least the end of September.

We understand that the DfE was not made aware of these changes, according to comments from political member Rob Callister on Facebook.

The news was first shared by Antony Guy Travel Counsellor on his Facebook page.

Antony said: ‘EASYJET will be cancelling their Isle of Man – Manchester services as from 01 July, all flights for the rest of summer schedule will be cancelled. This means flights from 01 July – 31 October .

‘Loganair at this stage will not be increasing capacity on Manchester so it’s unlikely that anymore flights will be added.

‘Therefore if you are booked to travel too/from Manchester with easyjet from 01 July you will need to re book an alternative.’

Since then the airline’s website has stated that there will be no flights between Ronaldsway and Manchester from June 30 until September 27.

Gef has contacted easyJet for comment.
