In a post om Facebook, the Laxey Glen said: ‘It was a pleasure to welcome the BBC to The Laxey Glen to film parts of the upcoming Villages by the sea episode. Very interesting, a lot of research went into the history of The Laxey Glen and we hope this might spark some more interest in preserving a real hidden gem on the Isle of Man.’

Beach Buddies and Culture Vannin are joining forces this weekend for a number of events across Peel.
Founder Bill Dale said: ‘We will get together this Sunday morning (June 26) at 10.30am in Peel, meeting at the swingbridge from where volunteers can choose to go in various directions, including Peel beach, the headlands, Fenella Beach, Peel Castle, Peel Hill or the old swimming pool.
‘There will be a number of Manx speakers there on the day, including Ruth Keggin Gell, Culture Vannin’s Manx Language Development Officer, who – along with her colleagues – will offer the chance to learn little bits of the Manx language in a very informal and friendly way. There’s no commitment – join in if you like. After the session, we will have some refreshments for everyone.’
