Joshua Stokes, from Granada Reports ITV, has won the ‘Emerging Young Talent of the Year’ title at the 2024 Journalism Awards.
He was awarded the accolade for his special report: Summerland: The Forgotten Disaster which focussed on the 50th anniversary of the fire at the leisure centre.
The Royal Television Society jury said it was ‘blown away’ by the resourcefulness of his work and the ‘emotional power of the storytelling’.
