Tyson Fury wants his next fight… on the Isle of Man

Could the biggest boxer on the planet be about to swap Las Vegas and London for… the Isle of Man?

Tyson Fury reckons so.

The former heavyweight world champion, who moved into an £8 million mansion on the Island with his family last year, has revealed he wants his next fight to be right here in the Isle of Man.

Yep, really.

Speaking to The Sun ahead of his comeback bout against Mariusz Wach in Thailand today (Friday), the Gypsy King was asked if he’d fancy boxing there again.

His answer? Pretty straightforward… ‘I don’t know yet. I definitely want to do a fight in the Isle of Man next.’

Now that’s one way to get people talking.

Fury clearly thinks the island could pull off a major boxing event too.

He said: ‘If we can set up a big fight out here [Thailand], within three or four weeks, we’ll do it in three or four days in the Isle of Man.’

That’s quite the vote of confidence, considering how slow things tend to move on Manx shores.

Of course, before anyone starts building a ring on Douglas Promenade, Fury first has to beat Poland’s Mariusz Wach in Thailand.

And there’s another little detail…

If Anthony Joshua gets past Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia this weekend, the long-awaited Fury v Joshua showdown could finally be on the cards later this year.

That would be one of the biggest all-British fights ever staged, although, let’s be honest, it’s probably not heading to the NSC.

Still, if Fury gets his way, don’t be surprised if the island ends up hosting one of the biggest names in world boxing before too long.

Now… where would you hold it? The Bowl? The Villa Marina? Peel Hill? (Okay, maybe not Peel Hill.)
