Nine Nominated for Customer Service Champion Awards
Voting opens 18 March
Honestly, I’ve written so many pieces this week about impressive people on the island, it’s sickening how talented you all are. Here’s some more.
The competition to find Douglas’ Customer Service Champion of 2024 is hotting up faster than a menopausal kipper in an air fryer.
Douglas City Centre Management (DCCM) is running the initiative for the 8th successive year and now it’s down to you- yes, YOU member of the public- to vote for the person you believe consistently delivers outstanding customer service.
The Finalists Are:
• Adam Barlow – Boots
• Mike Body – Holland & Barrett
• Maxine Saboor-Perry – M&S
• Charlie Bucknall – Clarks
• Mike Carr – Crossroads
• Sarah Lucinda – Next
• Gracie Kitchen – Gourmet Shakes
• Carly Clark – JD Sports
• Isidro Genaza – Strand Shopping Centre
All nine have been nominated by their store managers and work in customer-facing roles, which, I think many of us who have worked in retail can agree, is a daily challenge not to cause someone physical harm. So the fact that these nominees are managing to not only resist that temptation but also be incredibly helpful, understanding, and approachable makes them Manx superheros.
As well as being crowned 2024 Customer Service Champion, the winner will receive the coveted Customer Service Trophy and a £200 voucher to use in a city centre business of their choice. They’ll also receive VIP access at the Tower Insurance Tower of Refuge Walk later this year.
The two runners-up will receive £100 and £25 vouchers respectively; all the nominees and their managers will be recognised at an official presentation at the end of March.
Douglas City Centre Manager Oliver Cheshire said:
‘Once again, we have nine fantastic nominees, staff who go above and beyond in their work each and every day.
‘This campaign is not only extremely popular amongst the voting public but also recognises and celebrates the amazing talent we have among Douglas businesses and makes us think about customer service.
‘They are all fantastic ambassadors for Douglas and we congratulate them on their nominations.’
Every vote counts, as we saw in the 2016 presidential election, so GET VOTING. All you have to do is head on over to the Douglas City Centre Management Facebook page and like the photo of your favourite finalist.
Voting opens 18 March and runs until 9am on 22 March.
