A car wash at Peel Lifeboat Station raised £650 over the weekend that will support its volunteers to rescue and save people in danger at sea,
The station scrubbed and hosed down cars and vans fuelled entirely by sausage and bacon baps from the Breakwater Kiosk.
Public support, which is always high, seems to have jumped even higher this year as the charity celebrates its 200th anniversary with reflections on its roots here on the island.
Peel RNLI said: ‘With your generosity, we raised nearly £650 which will help keep our crew members in the appropriate safe kit, and provide necessary training or fuel for the lifeboat.’
