What started off as a measly snowball of Christmas-based activities has descended into a snowstorm of festivities coming up this weekend. The type of snowstorm so intense, ending up trapped in your car then being rescued by a woman who nurses you back to health only to smash your ankles with a sledgehammer because she’s obsessed with you is a very real possibility. (If you haven’t seen Stephen King’s Misery that won’t make sense. Go watch it.) There’s so much fun to choose from. Potentially too much fun. Choice paralysis is becoming a very real threat. Not as big a threat as Annie Wilkes though. Again. Watch Misery.
Christmas things:
Laxey Village Christmas Markets.
Great for people who love going East (17) aka Laxey.
When: 25 & 26 November
Where: (Where isn’t it) The Laxey Glen/ The Institute/ Christ Church/ The Tram Station
Time: 4pm.
The Facebook post says ‘merry vibes only’. If you’re not feeling merry, you’re not getting in so sort your s**t out and go eat, drink, and be merry. Or look into therapy.
Christmas entertainment, Lights, Santa, and more.
Not great for people who hate ‘lights and more’.

Time: Midday-6pm
You’d think Santa would be busy getting ready for Christmas at this time of year. So, if it’s a let down we can point the finger of blame at Peel for taking up valuable prep time.

Not Christmas things: More specifically- Walks.
Full Moon walk, fire, and concert in a cave
Pretty much what it says on the tin.
When: 26 November
Where: Derbyhaven
Time: 4:40-7:30pm
The plan is to head out to a deserted beach where there’ll be shelter, caves, seating, live music, and a chance to gaze at the full moon with others. All around a fire. Bring your favourite hot or cold drinks along, maybe even throw in some cave drawing crayons to properly tap into your neanderthal spirit.

South Barrule Full Moon Night Hike
Good for werewolves. Not good for people who aren’t werewolves.
When: 25 November
Where: South Barrule Plantation Car Park
Time: 6:30-9:30pm
Price: £10 per person.
Each walk is limited to 12 people. To book your place message your name and number to walking.im. (If the forecast changes and/or there is low cloud or high winds then the walk won’t go ahead and organisers will let you know by text. Or just listen for the lack of howling at the moon).

Dazzling for people who love annual band concerts up north.

The main thing I know is that there will be acoustic and atmosphere.
If none of these tickle your fancy, there’s loads of other things going on for you to feast your free time on. I hear Craig is having a house party because his parents are in the Bahamas again. You need booze, a harpsichord, and an ASBO to get in. Will Snapchat the deets to you. And if that doesn’t appeal, you can always stay in and watch Stephen King’s Misery.
