Last Day to Respond to Ramsey Land Grab Plan
Ramsey Commissioners wants to take over part of neighbouring areas
People living in Ramsey, Lezayre and Maughold, or anyone else who’s interested, has until tomorrow to submit their views on a plan to expand the town.
Ramsey Commissioners wants to take over part of neighbouring areas, in a move dubbed a land grab by opponents.
The land in question currently sits within the parish districts of Lezayre and Garff. Both authorities have questioned why Ramsey wants the land and have encouraged residents to help them in opposing the measure.
As part of the process for considering the application, legislation requires that a public inquiry be held.
Views should be supplied in writing on or before 5pm on Wednesday August 9 using the online response form at consult.gov.im, by email to localgovernment@gov.im or by post to the Local Government Team, Department of Infrastructure, Sea Terminal, Douglas, IM1 2RF.
