Dunn Picked for England u21 Squad
The University of Nottingham student has enjoyed a successful progression through the England ranks
Manxie Sienna Dunn has been picked in 2024 England under-21 women’s squad.
The hockey star is one of 21 players in the squad, 14 of whom played in the junior World Cup in Chile last December.
The University of Nottingham student has enjoyed a successful progression through the England ranks, which last year saw her named England Hockey’s rising stars at the prestigious Hockey Writers’ Club youth and junior awards.
Commenting on the new squad Heather Williams, GB head of elite talent development, said: ‘Congratulations to all the players selected and my thanks to their coaches and families who support them day in day out to help them achieve their hockey aspirations. It is great to see a mix of experience and new squad members.’
At 18 she is one of the younger players in the squad which is heading into a training camp this week with one eye on the Euros in Spain this summer and a trip to the Olympic Park in Paris for a trial event in the hockey arena.
Sienna also returned to playing in the Women’s Premier league for her uni this Saturday. They have had a great first half of the season and became the first uni to qualify for the Premier League Top 6.
