Back to Back at The Bernabowl

It’s a big weekend for the Ravens as they face not only one but two games on Saturday and Sunday.

While we’ve all be in awe of the Raven’s squad depth this season, it will be interesting to see what Chris Bass comes up with as he will need to shuffle the deck.

Saturday Nights Under the Lights

First off on Saturday night is Cammell Laird 1907. The quintessential mid-table side are sat in 12th in no danger of relegation, but equally with no realistic chance of bursting into the promotion race.

The Birkenhead outfit come in mixed form, winning three and losing three of their last six, including two heavy defeats in their last two games, going down 7-2 to Maine Road and 6-0 to Cheadle Heath Nomads.

A Lovely Sunday Afternoon

With Saturday night’s game finishing around 8.30pm, it will be a quick turnaround for the Ravens as Eccleshall come to the Bowl for a 1.45pm kickoff on Sunday.

Hovering above the relegation zone in 17th, Eccleshall have won three of their last six to move six points clear or 18th place Alsager Town.

Ravens

As for Chris Bass’ side, your guess is as good as ours right now in terms of who will play in which game. One things for sure though, Bassy will certainly want to see two strong teams and two wins to further strengthen the Raven’s position in second. Short of a shocking collapse of form the play-offs are secured, but with table toppers West Didsbury & Chorlton due to come to the island at the end of the month, do you dare to dream there could still be a late dash to the title? It would take a collapse from them of Newcastle 1996 proportions, but weirder things have happened in football.
