Since winning your 30 Under 30 award in May 2023, what has changed in your life and business?
David Lovelady, Creativity Winner – ‘A lot! Since winning 30 Under 30 I have had some great opportunities off-island shooting some really exciting projects. I’ve also launched a new company, Alt Lodge Limited, a production company in partnership with other creators around the island.’
Caitlin Pinder, Collaboration Winner – ‘I’ve continued in my role as a recovery support worker at Motiv8, and I finished my 3rd degree in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, making me a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.’
Alexandra Koyfman, Innovation Winner – ‘I’ve become a LoveTech mentor, and I was also part of the team that brought BA School Day to the Island, which is a global initiative to inspire the next generation of business analysts.’
Well, it sounds like each and every one of your lives has been improved substantially thanks to the fantastic work and platform that is Gef’s 30 Under 30. Great stuff! Ha ha ha HA HA H- you three can leave now – Right, who’s next?
Has being a 30 Under 30 winner had a positive impact on your life or career? Has it connected you to any new people or opportunities?
Ciara Sowerby, Achievement Winner – ‘Yeah, it got me my new job! The people I work with are super proud of the fact that I won 30 under 30, even though I won it before I started at my current workplace. They’ve even posted about it on the corporate LinkedIn!’
Joe Reid, Gamechangers Winner – ‘It helped me realise that our club really has made a positive impact on some people and that it’s always worth giving up time and energy to try and help the community. I met some cool people at last year’s event who I now have on socials and it’s nice to be connected to other like-minded people.’
Dominic Wall, Sustainability Winner – ‘Absolutely! For example, Eve Aycock (30 under 30 winner in 2023) and I collaborated to co-publish an article on ESG in the Isle of Man.’
Brilliant, very impressive. It’s lovely to hear some of you have even joined forces because of this process. Gef’s 30 Under 30. Bringing people together in life. In business. In love… No, sorry, not in love. Just life and business. MOVING ON.
What was the highlight of your 30 Under 30 experience?
Eve Aycock, Disruptors Winner – ‘I really enjoyed taking part in the ‘Young Inspirational Islanders’ panel as part of the Youth Impact Summit. It was great to speak to an audience of over 1,000 school students and connect with the other 30 Under 30 winners about our experiences and careers as young people living on the Isle of Man.’
Nick Collins, Gamechangers Winner – ‘The highlight for me had to have been receiving the email from Gef to say that I had been selected for the Gamechanger Award!’
Luke McKinlay, Innovation Winner – ‘I’m not usually someone who enjoys a photoshoot, but the team at Gef allowed me to bring along my home-built race bike to the shoot and we had such a laugh dragging the bike upstairs and through hallways! The awards event was also a fantastic evening, and it was great to be in the company of the other winners and hear about their achievements.’
Ha ha ha ha…well that’s all fantastic to hear, thank GOODNESS for Gef’s 30 Under 30, am I right? And on that note, that’s all we have time for folks!
