THE RESULTS: The Great Manx Tesco Vote

The people have spoken.

After a weekend of fierce voting (and, let’s be honest, some strong opinions about meal deals and self-checkouts that beep for no reason), the Isle of Man’s favourite Tesco store has been crowned.

A number of comments calling for Robinson’s, Co-Op and Mace had to be overlooked, but we hear you. Not everyone’s team Tesco. Some still miss Shoprite. The supermarket debate will continue long after our vote.

But with 544 votes since the poll went live on Friday afternoon, the winner is… drumroll… Lake Road Tesco!

Or, as we like to call it, the OG.

With a whopping 226 votes, it seems the nostalgia, convenience, and its wide selection were enough to clinch the top spot. Maybe they didn’t need nine other stores after all?

Coming in second with 182 votes is the Victoria Road Tesco.

Not bad for the fresh-faced addition to the Tesco family, proving you can win hearts quickly when you offer Clubcard deals and have a clothing range!

Snagging third place is Port Erin Tesco with 39 votes. Solid effort, Port Erin – clearly, those southern shoppers are loyal.

In fourth place, Peel Big Tesco grabbed 26 votes. A respectable showing, beating its little brother down the road comfortably.

And now… the dreaded bottom three.

Don’t worry, no one’s getting relegated (this isn’t the Premier League), but maybe a few of you could throw these stores a pity shop next weekend?

Little Tesco Peel had just eight votes, looking enviously at its big brother on Derby Road.

Castletown Tesco managed just six votes, so the first to open in the Tesco/Shoprite takeover, but not quite first in people’s hearts.

And in last place, Little Tesco in Ramsey. Sorry to all northerners.
