A Tragic Situation
The following is a statement from the Isle of Man Constabulary relating to the death of an Andreas woman last year.
On 17th January 2021 James Hywel Price strangled and killed his mother at their home address in Andreas. Mr Price was arrested at the address and admitted what he had done to the investigating officers. Mr Price was charged and since then has been held at a specialist hospital in the UK. On 22nd April 2022 he pleaded guilty to Manslaughter; he was today sentenced to an indefinite hospital order with restrictions.Â
The Senior Investigating Officer, DI Michelle McKillop has said: ‘The unlawful killing of Mrs Price is extremely sad and upsetting. It is apparent that James was suffering a significant mental illness that was undiagnosed and untreated. This is an absolute tragedy and my thoughts are with the whole family at this difficult time.’
