Aurora Borealis Could Put on a Show Tonight
Get ready to tilt your head skyward tonight because the Aurora Borealis – yes, the magical Northern Lights – could be putting on a show here on the Isle of Man!
According to local aurora expert Dave Corkish, the island could be in for a real treat.
‘An aurora alert has gone out for an expected level 8’, Dave said, adding, ‘In all the years I’ve been involved with the aurora, I’ve never seen an 8!’
What does this mean? Well, if nature plays ball (and Dave admits, ‘this thing is not the most reliable’), we could be in for a serious light show.
The Northern Lights could be visible across most of the UK, but for us on the island, we might get a stunning view without leaving home.
The key time to look up? After 11pm.
Yes, there’s a bit of rain predicted between 10 and 11pm, but after that, the skies should clear, giving us the perfect window for some magic.
So, grab your jackets, get outside (maybe with a flask of something warm), and keep your eyes peeled for those dancing lights.
Who needs a trip to Iceland when the Northern Lights could come to you?
Lets hope nature gives us the ultimate light show tonight, but if it doesn’t, don’t blame Gef!
