Two Isle of Man-linked billionaires have seen their fortunes take a dip over the past year, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List, while a former world heavyweight champion has punched his way into the rankings.

Property tycoon John Whittaker and PokerStars co-founder Mark Scheinberg both recorded declines in their estimated wealth, although they remain among the highest-ranked individuals connected to the island.

Whittaker and his family remain the Isle of Man’s wealthiest residents, despite seeing their fortune fall by around £500m over the last year.

The Peel Group owner is ranked 109th in the 2026 list with an estimated wealth of £1.5bn, down from £2bn previously. He also drops in the overall rankings but remains listed among the North West’s richest individuals.

Scheinberg, who still owns a home in Douglas, is ranked 37th with an estimated fortune of £4.889bn – a fall of £192m year-on-year, although he has edged up one place in the rankings.

He co-founded PokerStars before selling the online poker giant in 2014 for £3.3bn, later going on to establish luxury investment firm Mohari Hospitality.

The annual Rich List, compiled by The Sunday Times, tracks the wealth of Britain’s 350 richest individuals and families, and this year highlights what it describes as an ‘exodus of wealth’ from the UK.

Elsewhere, former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has made his debut in the Rich List’s ’40 Under 40′ rankings with an estimated fortune of £162m.

The 36-year-old, now based on the Isle of Man, earned his place following a career that saw him become a two-time heavyweight champion, alongside major earnings from sponsorships, media work and television projects.

The Sunday Times said this year’s list reflects significant movement among the UK’s richest individuals, with fewer billionaires appearing overall amid continued international relocation trends.
