All Aboard Route 8S!

A brand new bus route linking some of the island’s most scenic and historic spots is set to launch just in time for the summer holidays.

Route 85 will take you from Peel to The Sound, stopping off at Foxdale, the Airport, Castletown, Port Erin (via Shore Road), Port St Mary and Cregneash along the way, so whether you’re heading for a flight or a cream tea, you’re sorted.

It comes after the old Cregneash service was axed last year for being too expensive to run, despite strong public pushback and a petition that gathered over 2,000 signatures.

The new service aims to plug some big gaps in the west’s transport network and give locals and tourists better access to places like the living village of Cregneash and the stunning coastline down to The Sound.

If all goes to plan, Route 85 will run daily, all year round, and could be up and running before the schools break up.
