Manxman Sailings Cancelled
This morning’s Manxman sailings didn’t exactly go to plan after the Steam Packet cancelled the 8.45am and 2.15pm Heysham crossings thanks to a ‘technical incident’ on board Manxman.
The boat was running late into Douglas Harbour earlier and even needed a tug to help her in.
Word on the street (or at least the harbour wall) is that there may have been a fire in the engine room, though the Steam Packet hasn’t confirmed that bit.
Not wanting to leave passengers stranded, contingency plans are already underway to wheel out the old reliable Ben My Chree.
She’s been spotted this morning pulling into Douglas, probably muttering ‘back in my day…’ under her breath.
The Steam Packet has told customers to check for updates before heading down to the Sea Terminal and to give the reservations team a ring on 661 661 (Isle of Man) or 08722 992 992 (UK) if they need to shuffle their booking.
The company also confirmed that the relevant authorities have been notified regarding this morning’s incident.
