Snow Warning Downgraded

An amber warning for snow on the Isle of Man has now been downgraded to yellow.

Forecasters at Ronaldsway issued the update this morning as the risk of ‘significant snow at lower levels’ has now passed.

The Met Office predicts that further rain or sleet with hill snow is expected through today before petering out overnight into Monday.

Snow levels will gradually rise to 1000ft though this afternoon, with additional accumulations of around 5cm and further drifting.

The amber warning for snowy conditions kicked-in late on Saturday night and was meant to last until 3am on Monday.

The new downgraded yellow weather warning will also last until 3am tomorrow, January 6.

Snow has hit high ground as well as the west of the island today (Sunday).

Both the Mountain Road and the Sloc were closed last night due to conditions.
