A man has been found dead at a property in the capital.

The news was confirmed after officers from the Isle of Man Constabulary were called to an address in Douglas late on Friday afternoon.

Police have now launched an investigation into the man’s death but say there is nothing to suggest any wider risk to members of the public at this time.

His death and the circumstances surrounding it are currently being treated as unexplained, the force confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Isle of Man Constabulary said: ‘At 4.55pm on Friday, March 21 2025, police were called to an address in High View Road in Douglas following a report of a man being deceased within the premises.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Craig, who is leading the investigation, added: ‘As a result of our attendance at the address in High View Road yesterday afternoon, we are currently treating the nature and circumstances of the man’s death as unexplained.

‘A police presence remains at the address and within the local area while we continue to make necessary enquiries into the matter and work with the gentleman’s family and the Coroner of Inquests in order to fully understand exactly what has occurred.

‘I can however confirm that there is nothing which suggests any wider risk to any members of the public at this time and would ask that people refrain from making any speculations which may inadvertently cause distress to the gentlemen’s family.’
