Boathouse Bows Out
It’s not the kind of news you want to read on a Monday – or any day for that matter.
The Boathouse in Port St Mary, the cozy seaside spot on Athol Street just a stone’s throw from the Albert Hotel, has announced it’s closing its doors.
After just over two years of serving up delicious meals, owner Haydn took to Facebook to break the news.
He said: ‘Just over 2 years since we opened and unfortunately I am not writing a post to celebrate!
‘As many of you already know the decision has been made to permanently close The Boathouse effective immediately.
‘It’s been a pleasure to serve all our amazing customers over the last 2 years and to have worked alongside some fantastic and hardworking staff members.’
It’s not all doom and gloom however, as the post confirmed that the Boathouse will have one last service on Christmas Day.
It also confirmed that the restaurant, formerly the Fishery, will soon be going up for sale, with Haydn adding that ‘we hope to keep this beautiful seaside restaurant in place’.
